Chance for young people to gain writing and publishing skills
Young journalists and designers who want to express themselves and develop their skills are being signed up by the YPJK's new youth magazine.
Youth Today, which will published its first issue in October, is recruiting an editorial team for the first issue.
Budding reporters, feature writers, editors, photographers, designers and illustrators are all needed to help produce the magazine, which will be published this Autumn and circulated to schools, colleges and youth centres throughout Jammu & Kashmir.
The first editorial meeting will be on 5th September, 2009 at Srinagar, and further sessions will take place every Saturday evening. Young people will work with a professional freelance journalist and a graphic designer. No previous experience is necessary and training will be provided.
Features in the first issue of Youth Today, which will include the Youth Parliament of J&K, Sufi music and performing arts, activities for young people, remembering the children of Kashmir, the environment, Climate Change, healthy eating and agony of unheard voices.
Nadeem Qadri, Founder President, YPJK, said, “This is a fantastic opportunity for young people to express themselves, develop their journalistic skills and meet new people. All you need is an interest in working on a magazine and commitment. This is a great project to be involved in and to put on your CV.”
